HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Mahmoud on Monday opened the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE 2017) in presence of HE Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani.
The exhibition, which is organized by the Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), opens its doors to the public for six days at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.
In remarks following the opening ceremony, HE Al-Mahmoud said that the 14th edition of the exhibition is distinct, especially with the allocation of a new section for the Qatari talents to display they creations along with international brands.
He added that the Jewellery and Watched Exhibition, has become an important destination attracting visitors, pointing out that the exhibition is also platform for meeting, investment and exchange of benefits between exhibiting companies and Qatari businessmen.
For his part, QTA's acting director of exhibitions Ahmed Al Obeidli said that DJWE 2017 is one of the most important exhibitions to be hosted by the state during this year, as it features over 400 brands displayed by 43 exhibitors from 10 different countries. He added that this year's edition sees the participation of six Qatari designers displaying their creations in a special exhibition area. 
Al Obeidli pointed out that the most important support for the Qatari designers in this year edition is signing three-year contracts with them in implementation of the Emiri instruction.
