The Amber Fort near Jaipur, capital of Rajasthan, India. The 37th session of UNESCO's World Heritage Committee (WHC) on June 21 inscribed the Hill Forts of Rajasthan cultural property in India on the World Heritage List. The serial site includes forts of Amber, Chittorgarh, Kumbhalgarh, Ranthambore, Jaisalmer and Gagron in the districts of Jaipur, Chittaurgarh, Rajsamand, SawaiMadhopur, Jaisalmer and Jhalawar respectively. According to the UNESCO's document, the Hill Forts of Rajasthan are serial property formed by seven sites in the northwestern state of Rajasthan in India, each strategically built and located on the oldest mountain range of the Aravallis or the Vindhyan range in the region and, each as a representative of the medieval defense settlements of the Rajput warrior caste.
