Head of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission said that world economy is closely tied with sensitive region of Persian Gulf. He added that Iran hopes that the west does not make a strategic mistake in imposing sanctions against Iran. Alaeddin Boroujerdi, who was here with a number of members of the commission to attend parade of military forces participating in the Velayat 90 exercise, told IRNA that there are some whispers about sanctions against Iran oil, but the west should know that if the region is not a safe place for Iran oil export, it won't certainly be safe for others, too. He added that Iran strategic policy is that security of the region should be provided by regional countries and Iran, by holding such a successful exercise, is going to show that there is no need for alien presence in the region. He continued that Iran is ready for joint work with neighboring countries and can maintain security in the region without presence of aliens. Velayat 90 Naval Exercise started on December 24, 2011 and ended on January 3, 2012 in the east of Hormuz Straight to the north of Indian Ocean.
