Vietnam collected some 61.5 trillion Vietnamese dong (2.91 billion U.S. dollars) in the first month of 2014 for the state budget, up 4.8 percent year-on-year, said Vietnam's General Department of Taxation Tuesday. The state budget revenue in January accounted for 9.9 percent of the year's total, said the taxation authority, quoted by the government E-portal. Domestic revenue during the period hit over 53 trillion Vietnamese dong (2.5 billion U.S. dollars), up 5.7 percent year-on- year. Vietnam is projected to witness a state budget deficit of 224 trillion Vietnamese dong (10.61 billion U.S. dollars), accounting for 5.3 percent of the country's gross domestic product this year, according to the Ministry of Finance.
