US consumer spending recorded an increase in September following a similar rise in August, US official data showed on Friday. The Department of Commerce indicated that personal income increased USD 67. 4 billion, or 0.5 percent, and disposable personal income (DPI) increased also 0.5 percent or USD 64.8 billion in September. It added that personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased USD 24.7 billion, or 0.2 percent. Real disposable personal income increased 0.4 percent in September, the same increase as in August, whereas real PCE increased 0.1 percent in September, compared with an increase of 0.2 percent in August
