The number of people without a job in the Netherlands increased to 571,000 in December 2012, 19,000 more than the previous month, the Dutch Central Bureau of Statistics CBS said on Thursday. The figure means about 7.2 percent of the Dutch workforce are currently jobless. Dutch unemployment was growing by some 10,000 people on a monthly basis throughout 2012. The eurozone debt crisis has hit Dutch employment hard, especially in the past few months, which saw some 60,000 people lose their jobs. The Netherlands last saw its unemployment rate decrease in June 2011, when only 5 percent of the labor force was unemployed.
