The foreign trade ministry of United Arab Emirates (UAE) said Saturday the country's total exports of aluminium and its products rose by 102 percent year on year in the first half of 2012 to reach 1.5 billion U. S. dollars, local news agency WAM reported. The report added that the UAE came in the 34th position globally in its aluminium exports in 2011, advancing by seven places from 2010. The UAE, a major oil exporter, has no aluminium oxide resources but imports the light metal from Australia and other countries.
