Turkey's Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Nihat Ergun said Turkey grew 3 percent in the first quarter of the year and no European Union (EU) country could reach this figure" on Friday. In an official visit in London, the capital of England, Ergun stated that Turkey had experienced great changes in key areas such as foreign policy, democratization and economy. "Turkey has grown 3 percent in the first quarter of the year and no EU country could reach this figure" Ergun said and added: "The EU has spent around €500 billion for Greece. If we had €500 billion, we would never stop."
