Tunis - Anadolu

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag said that Turkey attached and would attach importance in relations with Tunisia. Turkey granted 434 vehicles to Tunisia within the scope of the projects on modernization of Tunisian Security Department and support to Tunisian local administrations. Bozdag, who was received by Tunisian Prime Minister Ali Laarayedh earlier on Monday, said during the ceremony that Turkey became one of the first countries which supported January 14, 2011 revolution in Tunisia. Turkey has always been pleased to share its experiences on political, economic and social areas with Tunisia, said Bozdag, adding that Turkey, especially during the transition period after revolution, would continue to support Tunisia. Bozdag noted that 434 vehicles Turkey was granting were one of the concrete indicators of cooperation and solidarity between Turkey and Tunisia. Tunisian Prime Minister Laarayedh, who also spoke at the ceremony, thanked Turkish government for its assistances. He noted that his government would give priority on democracy and development. Noting that they took important steps in security, agriculture, economy and culture areas, Laarayedh said that Tunisia would never forget the assistances of Turkey during its transition period. Following the ceremony, Bozdag and accompanying delegation departed from Tunis.
