Turkish Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek on Thursday said that Turkey attracted investments worth 8.3 billion USD from the Middle East-Mediterranean Region in the last decade. Speaking at the Eighth Turkish-Arab Economy Forum in Istanbul, Mehmet Simsek stressed that, in the last decade, Turkish investments in the Middle East were worth 1.1 billion USD. "Economic relations between Turkey and the Middle East-Mediterranean Region continue to develop. Turkey's exports to this region are worth 48.2 billion USD," Simsek stated. Turkey's imports from this region are worth 24.2 billion USD, Simsek noted. If Turkey joined, the Middle East-Mediterranean Region would have an economy worth 3.7 trillion USD, Simsek also said.
