H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, inspected today progress of construction in the Jubail vegetable, fruits, meat and fish market. Sheikh Sultan heard a briefing from officials on the final phases of construction of the new market which houses 432 shops (272 shops for selling vegetables and fruits, 92 units for selling meat and 68 stalls for selling fish). Designed and built on Islamic architecture, the new market will have loading and unloading facilities and a parking which accommodate more than 600 cars. The new market will be covered, clean, and will feature a new system where fishmongers will be able to conserve and handle fish through hygienic methods. The new market's design will facilitate services and spaces for fishmongers to clean, cut, and sell their fish. It will also improve the process of waste disposal for all shop keepers at the market. Sheikh Sultan was accompanied by Sheikh Khaled bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Public Works Department, Salah bin Butti, Chairman of Planning and Survey Department and a number of municipal officials.
