Sudan's monthly inflation rate dropped to 23.8 percent in July, said Sudan's Central Bureau of Statistics in a statement. "The inflation rate in Sudan dropped to 23.8 percent in July compared to 27.1 percent in June" the statement noted. Sudan has been suffering from an economic crisis after losing most of its oil revenues following the separation with South Sudan in 2011, which pushed the Sudanese government to adopt a package of massive economic measures to tackle the economic plight. Sudan's oil production was down to 120,000 barrels from 500,000 per day after the declaration of South Sudan's independence. However, the country's oil production mounted to 136,000 barrels later after two new wells started running.
