Carlo Umberto Bonomi ,an Italian native and the chairman of Investindustrial, has completed the purchase of Port Aventura in Catalunya, which means he now owns the full 100% of the Spanish theme park. He has just purchased the remaining 50% he didn't already own from the industrial holding arm of local lender La Caixa for the cost of 105 million euros, according to Iberian media sources. The deal comes three years after the Italian entrepreneur invested 200 milllion euros to purchase a 50% stake from La Caixa in the Catalunya-based theme park, the third most visited theme park in southern Europe. Inestindustrial predicts 75 million euros worth of investments over the next five years to expand the park's facilities. ''Our commitment to invest 80 million euros during the initial phase has been met,'' says a spokesperson for the Italian holding company, ''We are now developing an investment plan for the same amount to promote Port Aventura on an international level.'' Around 40% of the theme park's visitor are international tourists
