The value of non-oil exports of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the first quarter of 2012 amounted to SR 44,108 million, an increase of SR 4,546 million for the same period last year, up 11%. A report issued by the Department of Statistics and Information pointed out that the exports of petrochemical products ranked first with 35% accounting for SR 15,586 million, plastic products ranked second with 32% worth SR 14,029 million, and foodstuffs ranked third with 7%. The Department pointed out that the value of imports of the Kingdom during the first quarter of 2012 amounted to SR 128,655 million, up SR 19,746 million, compared with the same period in the previous year, an increase of 18%. The report revealed that the Kingdom's imports include machineries, electrical and transport equipment, metals, and foodstuffs.
