Turkish producers from the western province of Aydin export every year strawberries worth about $20 million, and Russia constitutes the biggest buyer, said head of a local producers' association. Deniz Tarhan from Sultanhisar's Agricultural Chamber told the Anadolu Agency that the population of their town was 6,000, and the annual harvest was around 25,000 tons. "The strawberry production is the leader in the agricultural exports. Seventy percent of our strawberries were exported and their biggest buyer is Russia, which is followed by Serbia, Macedonia, Romania and Ukraine," the official said.
