Islamabad - KUNA

Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif met on Friday with a Lebanese business delegation, during which he expressed appreciation to Lebanese businessmen's keen interest to invest in various projects in Pakistan, particularly in plastic pipe manufacturing, an official press release stated. The Pakistani premier assured the Lebanese delegation that the present government has embarked upon an investors-friendly policy to facilitate foreign investors, added the statement. Nawaz said that Pakistan attaches importance to the traditional relations with Lebanon and is desirous of increasing and fully exploiting the huge potential of bilateral trade. The trade between Pakistan and Lebanon amounted to USD 30.6 million during the financial year 2011-12. Pakistan exports cotton fabrics, yarn, carpets, rice, leather, surgical equipment, sports goods, furniture, cutlery and ceramics to Lebanon and imports electrical parts, copper and paper products from Lebanon. The meeting was attended by Fuaod Makhzoumi, head of Lebanese delegation, Pakistani Finance Minister, Minister for Petroleum, and Chairman Board of Investment and Pakistan's Ambassador in Lebanon.
