Till August this year, 8,205 Dutch companies went bankrupt year, an increase of 25% on a year ago. The country this year is heading for a new record In bankruptcies, according to a report published by the Dutch online bankruptcy register 'faillissementsdossier' on Monday. The construction sector in the Netherlands is facing a severe crisis. Not only contractors, but the entire construction industry, from wholesalers to plasterers, is facing a sharp increase in the number of bankruptcies. According to figures for the first eight months, 1,330 construction sector firms went bankrupt. This is an increase of 45 percent compared to 2011.
