Trade between Oman and Malaysia rose to $740.5 million in 2011 from $265.3 million in 2010, an increase of %16.1. Omani ambassador in Malaysia Aflah Mohammed Al Ta'ai stated that Malaysian exports to Oman in 2011 grew by %25.6 to $238 million, while figures show Omani imports to Malaysia, mostly oil and petroleum products, reached $502.5 million. The ambassador added that Oman's five-year plan 2011/2015 allocated $10 billion for construction projects, $12 billion for railway projects, and $3.5 billion for road-related projects .
