The Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) Ministerial Council began its 89th meeting in Cairo in Saturday under chairmanship of Algerian Minister of Energy and Mining Dr. Yousif Yousifi. OAPEC Ministerial Council will tackle a number of issues listed on its agenda including approval of the organization's 2013 budget and reviewing of the latest developments related to the United Nations (UN) Framework Convention on Climate Change and Kyoto Protocol. The meeting will also look into the results of OAPEC Scientific Award competition for the year 2012 and announce the names of the winners. OAPEC is a regional, specialized international organization focusing on organizing cooperation in oil development, collective projects, and regional integration
