The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel for 2013 is awarded to United State's Eugene Fama, Lars Peter Hansen and Robert Shiller "for their empirical analysis of asset prices". The Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences, officially known as The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, is awarded annually by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences to researchers in the field of economics. The award was established and funded in 1968 by the Sveriges Riksbank, the central bank of Sweden, on the 300th anniversary of the bank, and has been awarded annually since. The first award was given in 1969 to Ragnar Frisch and Jan Tinberge The prize, considered the most important prize in the field of Economics, rewards "specific discoveries or breakthroughs in the field of Economics". Lately the prize value has been roughly one million dollars (US). As of 2012, 44 Nobel Memorial Prizes in Economic Sciences have been given to 71 individuals. Seven awards have been given for contributions to the field of macroeconomics, more than any other category. The institution with the most affiliated Nobel laureates in Economics is the University of Chicago, which has 26 affiliated laureates.
