Prominent Qatar business conglomerate Nasser Bin Khaled has launched its annual Ramadan Goodwill Drive in partnership with Qatar Charity. A Qatar Charity Delegation led by Ahmad Yousef al-Mulla, head of Social Responsibility accompanied by Khalid al-Hadrami, another senior official of the Charity met NBK CEO Ayman al-Abassi and Sheikh Khaled bin Nasser al-Thani and Abeddelrazake al-Mawass, head of public relations at the NBK head office. The plans of the Fifth Ramadan Goodwill Drive were discussed. This year’s campaign will expand its philanthropic spread to help benefit up to 24,000 people during the month of Ramadan by welcoming 500 people per day at the tents set up at Al Yarmook School in addition to distributing 300 boxes to passers-by in different locations in Qatar. Al-Abbasi said: “This initiative is closely aligned with NBK’s values of corporate social responsibility and commitment towards giving back to the community. Through this drive, we hope to reach out to those in need and spread the holy spirit of Ramadan marked by generosity, sacrifice, patience and unity.” Al-Mulla of Qatar Charity said: “We are very happy to team up for another time with our long term partner NBK for their continuous commitment to support our banquets. Over the years, the NBK employees have set the example of a strong socially responsible citizenship by contributing their efforts and time to strengthening the goodwill in our community, which reflects greatly the conscious corporate culture within the company that has become an exemplar of philanthropy in Qatar.” As a socially responsible corporation, Nasser Bin Khaled has supported numerous diversified societal activities and community outreach programmes in addition to a wide number of Charity causes around Qatar. from gulf times.
