The Mongolian government held a National Consumer Conference under the theme of "People is God" here on Friday, which demanded that relevant ministries, manufacturers and distributors should treat consumers as "God" and improve product quality. Mongolia's Prime Minister Altankhuyag addressed the opening session. He said that Mongolia would change the "reform government" into a "service-oriented government." He vowed to create more jobs and wealth for people and provide them with affordable food so as to improve their livelihood. Leaders of the relevant departments answered questions from representatives. Questions focused onquality of housing, heating of homes in winter and food prices. Some consumer representatives said that manufacturers should guarantee quality at the beginning, and that distributors should not ignore reasonable demands of customers when business is good. More than 800 representatives from all parts of the country attended the conference, many of whom queued to raise questions, which reflected consumers' awareness about rights protection.
