Washington - UPI

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of 14,200 Legrand four-outlet power strips due to a shock hazard. The Under Cabinet Power and Lighting power strips were imported from China by Legrand Wiremold of West Hartford, Conn., and sold nationwide from February 2011 through August 2012 for about $40. The electrical wires are reversed on the receptacles on the power strips, posing a risk of electrical shock, the commission said in a statement. The recall involves four-outlet power strips with model number PX1001. They were sold in a red package with "Wiremold-Series Part PX1001" printed on the front. Consumers were advised to unplug and stop using the power strips and return them to Legrand Wiremold for a replacement or refund. Consumers can call 800-617-1768 for more information.
