Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Nabih Berri met on Friday with the Director of the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia at the World Bank Inger Andersen who handed him a World Bank report on the economic and social repercussions of the Syrian crisis on Lebanon, the official National News Agency reported. Berri commended the international efforts to maintain stability in Lebanon and help assisting the displaced Syrians, stressing at the same time that "these efforts are insufficient and that what's required is to work for holding the Geneva II conference to achieve a political solution to the Syrian crisis, which ensures the return of displaced persons to their homeland." "Lebanon is doing everything in its capacity to help the displaced Syrians, in spite of the difficult economic conditions," Berri was quoted by NNA as saying.
