Police in northwest State of Kano in Nigeria on Monday confirmed the abduction of a Lebanese national, Hassan Zein, by unknown gunmen within the state metropolis. Zein, who is the Managing Director of M.C Plastic company, was seized in the early hours of Monday from the company's premises at the Sharada Industrial Area of Kano, the state police public relations officer, Magaji Majiya, told reporters. According to the police spokesperson, unidentified gunmen stormed the area between 7:30 a.m. local time and 8 a.m. and abducted the man in the company's premises. The police had since mobilized personnel and alerted its patrol teams and check points to track down the kidnappers, he added. Majiya said the command also commenced special operation within Kano metropolis and environs since the incident occurred.
