Over 15 Kuwaiti companies have visited Expo Pakistan 2013, being held on September 26-29 in the city of Karachi, seeking business opportunities in different product lines. Representatives of different companies from Kuwait include those from Information Technology (IT), consumer goods, fruits, textile and electronic industries. A representative for Khalaf Food Stuff, Fruits and Vegetables of Kuwait, in a press statement to KUNA said, "The Expo has been a success as it offers a lot of opportunities to the foreign buyers especially those working in the food industry. The quality and cost of the mangoes exhibited in the expo have attracted us a lot, and we will be surely looking forward to carry out some trade transactions with Pakistani companies." Another representative from the Kuwaiti company, Al Kazemi International General Trade, told KUNA, "The quality of Pakistani rice is far better than many countries and it has got potential to capture good market share in Kuwait. Such events (i.e the Expo) express the willingness of the Pakistani government towards the enhancement of trade and development ties with other countries." The representatives from Kuwait expressed satisfaction over the arrangements of the expo and overall security situation in Pakistan and Karachi city. Around 1000 foreign buyers from 70 countries are participating in the expo, showcasing a vast variety of Pakistani products to display the economic potential of the country. The President of Pakistan, Mamnoon Hussain inaugurated the event on Sept. 25 at the Governor's House with a commitment to make Pakistan a preferred destination for business regionally and internationally. The event organized by Trade Development Association of Pakistan (TDAP) offers a complete basket of Pakistan's export sector with over 1500 domestic and international exhibitors participating in the event. The foreign buyers from USA, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Iran, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, South Korea, Brazil, Poland, Bangladesh, Libya, China, South Africa, Bahrain, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Netherlands, Morocco and UAE also are attending the expo. The Expo Pakistan is presenting local products including Agro Foods, Beauty Products, Constructions Material, Defense Products, Designer Wear, Engineering Manufacturing, Furniture, Garments, Gems Jewelry, Handicrafts, Handloom Traditional Textile, Home Decor (Carpet Rugs), Home Textile Related Products, Kitchen Equipment, Knitwear, Leather, Leather Accessories, Mineral Metals, Pharmaceuticals, Services, Sportswear/ Sports Goods, Stationary Products and Surgical Instruments. A delegate from Mauritius Chamber of Commerce told KUNA, "Pakistan has got a lot of potential in tourism sector and cooperation between the two countries can lead towards a corridor of economic ties." A fashion show was also organized by the TDAP to promote cultural dresses and designer wear of the Pakistan fashion industry
