In a big ceremony held here Tuesday, Kuwait and Cyprus signed six agreements and one memo of understanding to bolster bilateral cooperation in various domains. The signing ceremony, held at Bayan Palace, was attended by His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and visiting Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades as well as several Kuwaiti and Cypriot ministers and senior officials. The Kuwaiti and Cypriot foreign ministries inked a technical agreement on the arrival and departure of Kuwaiti citizens in Cyprus during an evacuation operation from the Middle East to Kuwait via Cyprus and a memorandum of understanding on bilateral political consultations. The two governments signed four agreements for cooperation in terrorism and crime-fighting, tourism, public health and medical science, and higher education and scientific research. A cooperation agreement was also signed between Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) and Cyprus News Agency (CNA).
