Kuwait's Jazeera Airways announced it has received a new Airbus (A320) plane from the manufacturer Airbus, which brings the total of all aircraft owned by the Kuwaiti airliner to 13, said a statement by the airliner on Saturday. The new aircraft (A320) has left Airbus headquarters in the French city of Toulouse, heading to Kuwait to undergo service within the corporate network, said the statement. The new purchase comes as part of a strategic effort to attain the latest modern aircraft, and more aircraft will be received until 2014 to meet the expansion of the Kuwaiti market, it noted. Since 2005, the company has received 13 (A320) aircraft out of 15 orders of Airbus planes. Two more will be received either in the current year or in 2014. Board Chairman of Jazeera Airways Marwan Boodai said that any aircraft received by the company must undertake a strict inspection process for nine months before putting it to use.
