The National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) and Iraq Drilling Company chiefs signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on technical and expertise training. The announcement was made by NIDC Managing Director Hamid Reza Golpayegani in an interview with the oil ministry's website, where he also added that under the deal signed in Ahvaz, the capital of Iran's oil rich Khuzestan province, NIDC’s experienced and scientific forces will train Iraqi’s apprentices in some fields like drilling, power engineering, mechanic and fluids followed by issuance international certificates for them. On the sidelines of the meeting, Golpayegani told Shana that the two sides also discussed other related issues like supervision on drilling operations, directional drilling, stop gushing, HSE, cementing, acidizing, mobile metal tubing and other engineering and technical services. "Drilling industry is one of main pillars of oil and gas production process playing a crucial role in discovery, development and exploitation from oil wells," he said. According to Golpayegani, NIDC is involved in drilling operations in 10 provinces of the country as well as drilling oil and gas wells in Persian Gulf. Valuable experiences of NIDC in drilling of 3500 oil and gas wells, offering various engineering and technical services and high capability of its experts are the main advantages of NIDC in drilling sector, the official concluded. Meanwhile head of Iraq Drilling Company (IDC), Mohammad Ahmad Alrabie, said he and his accompanying delegation have travelled to Iran to examine NIDC’s equipment and capabilities. "IDC is a newly established company and tries to get experience through interaction and cooperation with other drilling companies," he added. According to the official, vicinity to Iran, close relations and Iran’s progresses in drilling sophisticated oil and gas fields have provided good conditions for boosting cooperation between the two sides.
