The annual inflation rate in Algeria during the month of August reached 5.9 percent compared to 7.7 percent during the same period of last year. A statistical report issued by the Algerian National Statistical Office said the rate of inflation realized a remarkable of nearly 9 percent in the past year, is supposed not to exceed 4.5 percent at the end of 2013. The report hinted to the possibility of a drop in inflation this year, to stabilize in the range of 4 to 5 percent. During the first half of this year inflation in Algeria dropped to 4.7 percent compared to 3 percent during the corresponding period last year.
