The Kuala Namu International Airport in Medan, North Sumatra, will be fully operational by July 25, Indonesia’s transportation ministry announced here Monday. Kuala Namu Airport will replace Polonia Airport as an international hub in Medan, a Jakarta Post report said. Transportation Ministry Public Relations Director General Israfulhayat said the airport cost US $ 576.03 Million (Rp 5.8 Trillion) to build. “As much as 59% of the budget came from the ministry while 41% from state-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II,” Israfulhayat was quoted by a section of the media.
