Gold prices in India rose by around 50 cents on Tuesday to touch a new high of USD 659 per ten grams, due to brisk seasonal buying amid firming global trends. According to gold traders, the yellow metal prices saw an upward trend due to increased demand in view of the ongoing marriage season in the country. A firming global trend further supported the prices, they said. Global prices, which normally set price trends on the domestic front, advanced 0.2 percent to USD 1751.80 an ounce in Singapore.
