Georgia's foreign trade volume and deficit increased by 11 percent and 12.2 percent respectively last year, the statistical service said Friday. GeoStat reported that Georgia's foreign trade volume rose to 10.2 billion U.S. dollars while its trade deficit widened to 5.46 billion in 2012. Imports reached 7.84 billion dollars and exports stood at 2.37 billion, GeoStat said. The top 10 trading partners of the South Caucasus country included Turkey, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, China, Germany, Russia, the United States, Bulgaria, Armenia and Italy. The re-exportation of motor vehicles, ferro-alloys and nitrogen fertilizers were Georgia's top export items in 2012, while oil products and motor vehicles were the country's top import items.
