French Development Minister Pascal Canfin is to pay a two-day visit to Lebanon October 1-2 where he will hold high-level talks with several officials, including Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati. The talks are to focus on bilateral cooperation in the area of decentralisation, a subject that will be particularly addressed in the French minister's talks with Lebanese Economy Minister Nicolas Nahas. Visits are planned to several sites that are part of the decentralised cooperation between the two countries, among them the future Cultural Centre in Beirut (Bait Beirut). Canfin will also meet in the Lebanese capital with representatives of France's Development Agency (AFD) and with European Union representatives on the spot.
