Austria is on the edge of yet another recession, said economic experts at an event held in Vienna. Economist Monika Merz-Gehring said at the event which was held last night that Austria and Germany liked to talk about a Eurozone recession, but it could well effect them too. "The European recession is being brought about with austerity in the most professional fashion possible," said Merz-Gehring critically. The Viennese economist warned of a so-called "double-dip" recession - an economic downturn with two low points. Merz-Gehring suggested that to combat the crisis, university subjects like maths, computer science, natural sciences and engineering should be supported more. This could help stimulate economic growth, she pointed out
