Beijing - XINHUA

The construction of the House of Chadian Woman in the capital N'Djamena has begun with support from China, according to official sources. Chad's first lady Hinda Deby Itno and the Chinese ambassador to the African country, Hu Zhiqiang, on Friday laid the foundation stone for the House of Chadian Woman, for which China provides a grant of 11 million U. S. dollars. The house will have three buildings, 10 training rooms, a gym, a volley ball pitch and other facilities. "This is a historic day. All the Chadian women should be proud of this project because in about 20 months, we shall have a place where all Chadian women can meet," the first lady said at the launch of the construction work, which is expected to complete in early 2015. She promised her Chadian sisters that they could expect the house in service in March 2015, during the March 1-7 National Week for the Chadian Women, which is celebrated each year. "The project for the construction of this center is just part of the long list of the infrastructural projects that have been accomplished under the auspices of Sino-Chadian cooperation," Chad's Infrastructure Minister Gata Ngoulou said. "The Chinese government will continue giving aid to Africa so that the fruits of development can benefit the African people," the Chinese ambassador to Chad said.
