Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann said the expulsion of Greece from the Eurozone is more costly than a deadline extension, in an interview published on Sunday. Faymann showed his concern about the Greece debt crisis, stressing that there would be a good chance for the European Union and Greece to achieve an agreement if a loan deferment is allowed, provided that Greece sticks to reforms and savings targets agreed with the EU. "This may be a delay of two or three years that should be decided by the experts", Faymann said. In the current situation, the crisis and unemployment in Greece are serious, that they will not resolve it without payment deferral, he said.
