The Allenby Bridge between the West Bank and Jordan will operate only from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and Monday due to Jewish holidays, police running the crossing on the Palestinian side said. A statement by Allenby Bridge police highlights that the crossing usually operates from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday to Thursday, while on Friday and Saturday, it operates only until 10:30 a.m. The statement issued here on Saturday noted that last week more than 19,000 passengers traveled in both directions. Some 10,229 passengers left the West Bank to Jordan, and 8,729 arrived in the West Bank, it said. Police at the crossing detained 21 fugitives last week over fraud and other criminal charges. Furthermore, 21 patients were allowed to travel in ambulances in both directions.
