China's e-commerce giant Alibaba pocketed 19.1 billion yuan (3.04 billion U.S. dollars) during its "Singles' Day" shopping promotion on Nov. 11, it announced on Monday. The figure was three times more than that of last year, according taobao.com, a key sales platform under Alibaba. The e-commerce company launched its 24-hour 50-percent-off carnival on Sunday. Nov. 11 or 11.11 has four "1"s, which represents a single person. Figures from other e-commerce competitors are not available yet.
