Dollar surges against euro on ECB easing expectations

The US dollar traded mixed against major currencies on Thursday as euro-zone inflation fell more than forecast and boosted expectations that the European Central Bank would further ease monetary policy. In late New York trading, the euro fell to 1.3590 dollars from 1.3727 dollars of the previous session, and the British pound increased to 1.6053 dollars from 1.6016 dollars.
