Doha - Arabstoday

Vodafone Qatar has launched new postpaid plans, which are value-packed with free bonuses including special roaming rate in some 20 countries and unlimited “Vodafone to Vodafone local calling”. The value plans were launched at a media event at the Grand Hyatt yesterday. Vodafone said it recognises that its customers are “unique” and so five free bonuses have been provided to choose from. These bonuses are only available on Vodafone’s new postpaid plans. The Vodafone Passport free bonus, which the service provider said is the first of its kind in Qatar, gives customers the ability to roam in some 20 Vodafone Group countries for a single rate of Dh75 a minute. SMS in these countries will also be charged at Dh75 per minute and data at Dh75 per MB. Vodafone Qatar CEO Richard Daly said, “It is important for Qatar residents to stay connected wherever in the world they travel. Utilising Vodafone’s global reach we have been able to transform the roaming offer customers get. Customers who take Vodafone Passport will now have the peace of mind that comes with simple and transparent pricing and great value for money. “With Vodafone Passport you can roam at these great rates in all 20 of the Vodafone Group countries. This offer really liberates customers when they are roaming and gives them a good reason to keep their phones on.” Vodafone Unlimited bonus gives customers unlimited Vodafone to Vodafone calling and SMS. “With this great bonus customers will never again have to worry about what it costs them to speak to all of their other family and friends on Vodafone,” Daly said. He said Vodafone’s launch of post paid services brings real choice to this segment of the market. “Customers can now design their own unique plan according to their communication needs giving them complete control. The Vodafone Unlimited bonus is a great example of that. There are absolutely no hidden catches and customers can stay connected to their family and friends on Vodafone without having to worry about the cost.” In addition to free bonuses and to celebrate the launch of postpaid service, Vodafone postpaid customers also get “Star numbers” as part of their plan. Star numbers are Vodafone’s special numbers, and customers will be able to enjoy this great offer for a limited time. Daly said, “We want postpaid customers to have a fabulous experience when they join Vodafone. Postpaid customers will always be treated with dedicated and exclusive service in our retail stores and call centre. Our dedicated call centre team in Qatar is ready to talk to customers round-the-clock.” Vodafone’s postpaid billing service will enable it to meet the needs of “most discerning” customers and effectively serve the business community. Recently, Vodafone said its mobile customer market share increased to 28.5% in March with the service provider adding more than 80,000 customers to 837,233 by the end of 2011-12.
