Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced its production, sales and export results for June 2012 and for the first half of calendar year 2012 (January-June). 1. Production June 2012 Nissan\'s global production in June increased 4.5% year-on-year to 438,557 units, marking an all-time record for the month of June. Production in Japan decreased 2.5% year-on-year to 99,800 units, mainly due to decreased demand for Note, which is nearing the end of its model life. Production outside of Japan increased 6.7% year-on-year to 338,757 units, marking an all-time record for the month of June. In the U.S., production rose 13.6% year-on-year to 53,275 units, mainly due to increased demand for the new Infiniti JX and Nissan Frontier truck. In Mexico, production increased 9.9% year-on-year to 63,295 units, due to higher demand for Versa, March and pickup trucks. In the U.K., production increased 3.3% year-on-year to 46,320 units. In Spain, production decreased 1.3% year-on-year to 13,715 units. In China, production increased 2.9% year-on-year to 113,402 units, mainly due to strong demand for the new Venucia D50, Tiida and Qashqai, marking an all-time record for the month of June. Production in other regions increased 10.8% year-on-year to 48,750 units, mainly due to increased demand for Sunny in India and Almera in Thailand. First half: January-June 2012 Nissan\'s global production during January-June increased 19.0% year-on-year to 2,553,224 units, achieving a best-ever high for the January-June period. In Japan, domestic production increased 28.7% year-on-year to 578,439 units. This result is due to a rebound in production after the impact of the earthquake in Japan last year, in addition to increased demand for Juke and Serena (which qualifies for the government subsidy program for environmentally-friendly vehicles) and increased exports of Rogue. Production outside of Japan increased 16.5% year-on-year to 1,974,785 units, marking an all-time record for the January-June period.
