Seoul - Yonhap

GS Engineering & Construction Corp., South Korea's fourth-largest builder, said Friday it has obtained an order worth 240 billion won (US$218 million) to build a bridge over the Hau River in southern Vietnam. Under the deal with Cuu Long CIPM, a company established by the Vietnamese transport ministry, GS plans to complete the 2.97-km bridge by September 2017, GS said in an emailed statement. GS joined hands with another South Korean mid-sized builder Hanshin Construction Co. to construct the bridge, holding an 80 percent stake in the project. The project will be financed by the Economic Development Cooperation Fund of the state-run Export-Import Bank of Korea, which is aimed at helping improve the economy of developing countries, the builder said.
