H.E. Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Advisor to HRH the Prime Minister for Industry & Oil Affairs and GPIC Chairman received at his office Mr. Yousif bin Abdulrahman Al Zamel, Managing Director on the occasion of his visit to the Kingdom to follow up the latest GPIC business developments. The meeting was attended by the Company's President Mr. Abdulrahman Jawahery. During the meeting, H.E. Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa praised the positive efforts made by the Managing Director and the other Board members for monitoring the Company's progress and the smooth operations of all departments. He congratulated the Managing Director for the new record daily production figures of petrochemicals produced by the Company and the profits that exceeded all expectations. GPIC Chairman attributed such continuous successes to the flexible strategic plans drawn up by the Board of Directors. He also paid tribute to the efforts made by the executive management for putting such plans and strategies into effect in co-operation with all the Company's staff members. Meanwhile, H.E. GPIC Chairman said that such significant achievements could not have been possible without the strong support of the wise leadership which have provided all the means of success and made Bahrain a fertile land for viable and successful investments. He expressed his thanks to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. He also expressed his thanks to all government organizations in Bahrain and the shareholders especially the National oil and Gas Authority in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) in Saudi Arabia and Petrochemical Industries Company in the State of Kuwait for their string backing to this pioneering Gulf company. He expressed his appreciation of the efforts of Their Excellencies the members of the Board of Directors for their wise policies and enlightened views that contributed to the successful growth of GPIC. The Chairman expressed his deep appreciation of the executive management and all the employees for their outstanding performance and sincerity in carrying out their duties that made such achievements possible. On his part, Mr. Yousif bin Abdulrahman Al Zamel expressed his thanks and appreciation to the GPIC Chairman and emphasized that members of the Board were guided by his wise directives that reflected a wealth of experience in the oil industry. This particular sector undoubtedly requires the valuable experience and clear vision enjoyed by H.E. Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa. GPIC Managing Director added that all members of the Board and staff members work in cohesion under the leadership of His Excellency the Chairman as one team bonded together by the one family spirit with clearly defined objectives which they seek to achieve. Mr. Abdulrahman Jawahery, GPIC President expressed his thanks to H.E. Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa for co-operation and concern with all the business details in GPIC, especially his focus on providing the Company's employees with training, development and equal opportunities. Mr. Jawahery added that the Company's achievements have been made possible in a large part due to the concern and follow up by the Board of Directors led by H.E. Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa and members of the Board. He noted in particular the high level of professionalism in driving forward this successful industrial organization. Earlier, Mr. Yousif bin Abdulrahman Al Zamel made an inspection tour of the GPIC Complex and familiarized himself with the latest technical developments and future projects. He had a close look at the Company's production operations. During the visit, the Managing Director attended the ceremony held to honour a number of outstanding performers in the Company in addition to honouring a number of technical developments especially during August which witnessed higher production levels in spite of the high temperature and the hot levels of the cooling water for the plants. It should be noted that during August 2013 GPIC achieved record production levels of methanol and urea. The Company produced a total of 38,176 tons of methanol and 58,287 tons of urea. The plants produced a total of around 135,523 metric tons of all products which was the highest output since the launch of its operations in 1985 in spite of the high temperature and hot levels of the water used in cooling the plants. On this occasion, GPIC celebrated the August record production and total exports of 764,742 tons. During the event, the plant superintendents and a number of outstanding employees were honoured.
