Abu Dhabi - Arabstoday

The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) has won the coveted Best Trade Stand Award at the Abu Dhabi International Exhibition and Conference (Adipec), which concluded at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) on Wednesday, with a record visitors number of over 50,000. The double storeyed stand designed to reflect the prestigious image of Adnoc and its group of companies as well as that of Abu Dhabi was voted the Best Stand among 1,600 exhibiting companies from 91 countries, in recognition of its unique design, intellectual content and visitor success. Abdulla Nasser Al Suwaidi, director general of Adnoc said: “We are really proud to have won this prestigious award and this is an honour for all of us at Adnoc. We are also glad that our stand continued to lure thousands of visitors from all over the world and this has contributed a great deal in our endeavor to promote our company, our industry and Abu Dhabi as a business hub in the region.” Ali Al Jarwan, CEO of the Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (Adma-Opco) and Adipec Conference chairman, received the award from executives of dmg :: events, organizers of Adipec. Present at the award ceremony were key executives from Adnoc and its group of companies. Commenting on the award, Geoff Dickinson, president of dmg :: events Middle East, India and Asia, said: “This is a brilliant stand. It is not only incredible in terms of the design but also complex and it really befits such a big company like Adnoc which is a key oil and gas industry player. It was an easy choice. Once again I should say it is the most terrific stand I have ever seen.” Shell honoured Shell was recognised at the Adipec Excellence in Energy Awards with Shell operated ventures and joint ventures scooping four out of five categories of project excellence. The Pearl Gas to Liquids (GTL) project won the Best Mena Oil and Gas Project Award against intense competition in recognition of the originality of its concept and the long-term value it generates for the State of Qatar and Shell. The CSR Award was given to the Shell operated Majnoon project for their submission ‘More than an Oil Field Project’. Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), in which Shell is a joint venture partner, won the ‘Best MENA Oil & Gas HSE Project or Initiative Award’ for the Nimr Water Treatment Plant. Saudi Aramco won ‘The Best MENA Oil & Gas Innovation or Technology Award. Judged the winner by visiting international media, the double-storey Adnoc stand’s ground floor mixes interactive components such as digital audio visual displays with Middle Eastern-inspired imagery such as the Arabic ‘Mashrabiya” pattern. The upper floor has a private meeting area designed as a traditional Arabic majlis. The two-level stand is well positioned in the main entry atrium of the exhibition venue. From : Khalij
