H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, today met in Vancouver with Edward D. "Ed" Fast, Canadian Minister for International Trade, within the framework of his current official visit to Canada.
During the meeting, which was attended by James Moore, Canadian Minister of Industry, both parties discussed bilateral relations between the U.A.E. and Canada and ways of developing and strengthening them, especially areas of transport, infrastructure and ports, and encourage investments to serve the benefit of the two friendly peoples.
Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the importance of exchanging such visits between the two friendly countries within the framework of supporting bilateral cooperation, expressing the U.A.E.'s keenness on boosting cooperation and all that would encourage investment and diversify the areas of cooperation to serve the common interests of both sides.
Mr. Fast commended the level of trade and economic growth of the U.A.E., noting the developmental projects implemented in the private and public sectors, highlighting his country's desire to expand areas of cooperation with the U.A.E. at various levels.
Sheikh Abdullah and his accompanying delegation later attended a reception hosted by the Canadian Minister of International Trade in H.H.'s honour.
