HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani held today morning a meeting with members of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) and Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA).
At the outset of the meeting, HE the Prime Minister stressed the need to stimulate, support and encourage Qatari private sector to contribute effectively to the economic boom witnessed in the country so as to implement HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's directives that instructed the government to support and strengthen private sector's partnership and participation in investment fields, to find ways to facilitate all procedures for doing economic and commercial activity in the country, and provide better services to citizens and residents.
HE Prime Minister lauded the role of Qatari businessmen and their efforts in the development field and the growth of national economy, stressing in this regard the government's pursuit of achieving a strong economy capable to grow and compete at the regional and international levels.
He pointed out that the country will witness a lot of achievements in the upcoming days.
HE Sheikh Abdullah was briefed on the latest developments in economic projects in the country and efforts undertaken to further develop them, in addition to a presentation for the Qatari private sector on a number of strategic projects and government initiatives to be launched in order to allow the private sector to prepare and take part in these projects in an attempt to ensure the application of the principle of equal opportunities and transparency in these projects as well as the continuous and permanent efforts of the government to coordinate between the public and private sectors.
For their part, the Qatari businessmen extended their thanks and appreciation to HE the Prime Minister on this opportunity, which allowed them to advance cooperation between the two sides, stressing that the unification of efforts would contribute effectively to the development and progress of the country.
The meeting was attended by HE the Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Khalifa Al-Thani, HH the Minister of Finance Ali Shareef Al Emadi and HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim Al-Thani.
