Cairo - MENA

Cairo Governor Galal Mostafa Saeed said Egypt is deeply relieved over the success of the Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC) that has boosted Egypt's prestige as a country of ancient civilization.
At a press conference held at the government's City Hall, Saeed congraulated President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab on the success of the conference, noting that the conference has opened the door for projects and investments that will certainly make a new leap in the Egyptian society.
He also said the new administrative capital will be one of the biggest ever projects to be carried out in Egypt just like the New Suez Canal project.
The governor also said he coordinated efforts with a number of businessmen to finance the reshaping of Cairo downtown within six months to reflect its historical value.
He also revealed that another project is currently underway to upgrade Cairo's Khedevite district which hosts almost 350 buildings with a distinguished and unique architecture.
The governor also said 800 buses will enter service in the public transportation authority within four months. New contracts have been clinched to provide 800 more buses within six months from now.
He said the total number of buses which have been donated by UAE reached 600, while 750 others will reach soon.
Negotiations are currently underway with the World Bank to approve a loan to purchase 500 new buses operating with natural gas to provide better and smooth transportation service at the capital.
