The Agriculture Ministry said the Principal Bank for Development and Agricultural Credit (PBDAC) and the Supply Ministry have received around 3.678 million tons of wheat from farmers in all governorates, so far.
The bank's grain storage barns received 923,10 tons of wheat so far, while grain mills received 770,444 tons of local produce, the ministry said in a statement released on Sunday.
The General Company for Silos and Storage and Al Masria for Silos received 820,372 and 986,36 tons of wheat respectively, the statement added.
The three-month wheat harvest began mid-April.
The government expects 4 million tons of wheat to be supplied by farmers by the end of the set time.
