Sharjah - WAM

The Higher Committee of National Day Celebrations in Sharjah is organising a special ceremony to celebrate the UAE's Flag Day on Thursday, 2nd November. The ceremony is expected to be the biggest national gathering to celebrate the day in Sharjah, and will take place on Flag Island in the emirate with the theme, 'The UAE of Giving and Generosity'.

According to a statement from the Higher Committee, celebrations will begin with the National Anthem played at 11 a.m., followed by music from the UAE Military Band. The event will also include special performances inspired by the UAE's rich heritage, and aimed at fostering a spirit of loyalty and tolerance amongst the country's multicultural community.

Commenting on the announcement, Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Higher Committee of National Day Celebrations in Sharjah, said, "The committee is dedicated to organising and putting together a series of creative and engaging events this year to include all sectors of UAE society, both Emiratis and residents alike, in celebrating the many achievements of our country under the guidance of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan."

Al Midfa concluded by saying, "We are always striving to create memorable celebrations, especially UAE National Day and Flag Day, in accordance with the directives of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and we believe that these celebrations are great opportunities for different communities to come together."
